CLSU gets government recognition as distance education provider

The Open University (OU) of the Central Luzon State University (CLSU) recently got the certificate of government recognition as a distance education provider from the Commission on Higher Education (CHED).

 The recognition came after an ocular inspection and evaluation conducted by the CHED’s Technical Panel for Distance Education and Transnational Education.

The technical panel recommended the certificate of recognition since the result of its inspection was  a notch higher than the expected permit to operate.

The technical panel’s evaluation  covered both existing and  new curricular offerings of the Open University  according to Dr. Flor Amor Monta, OU dean.

The OU which started in 1997 currently offers six masteral and  two doctoral programs; eight certificate programs and two diploma courses, as follows:

Doctoral programs – Ph.D in Development Education, and Rural Development; Masteral programs -  Master of Science in Education, and Rural Development; Master of Professional Studies in Education, and Rural Development; Master of Local Government Management, and Master in Agribusiness Management;

Certificate programs – Basic Environment Impact Assessment, Basic Local Governance, Teaching, Project Feasibility Preparation and Implementation, Agricultural Training Management, Agricultural Research Management, Local Development Planning and Entrepreneurship;  and Diploma programs – Diploma in Local Government Management,  and Land Use Planning.xxx
